It was we who informed you first that the second season of Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon would be launched. And now it is confirmed. Today, This article of the popular daily "The Times of India" confirmed the news. Here is the article that TOI published today.
"Lovebirds Rubina Dilaik and Avinash Sachdeva seem to be charting the same course professionally as well.
While Rubina was seen in the second season of Punarvivaah --- Ek Nayi Umeed, boyfriend Avinash is all set to feature in the second season of popular telly show Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? on Star Plus.
He will be paired with Shrenu Parikh, last seen in Byaah Hamaari Bahoo Ka. The first season of the show, featuring Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani, had become quite popular along with the lead pair. But after Braun quit, it ended immediately.
Says a source, "Season one was popular, so it is only logical to cash in on the brand. The new season, which will launch soon, will have the same title with a tag line --- Ek Baar Phir." Barun Sobti, popularly known as Arnav, said, "Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon was one show that was loved by one and all, I was lucky to be a part of the show and have very fond memories of the year and a half that I shot for it. I hope the second season does well."
Though the news can't be called a pleasant surprise as the new season will have neither Sanaya nor Barun. And it's a real shocking and heart breaking news for all of us, the Sarun fans. But there is still a hope for all of us.
After reading the news, we contacted some of our sources and they told us that the channel's first choice is still Barun & Sanaya. Because they know that without them, the show has very less possibilities to be successful. And that goes in our favor. All we need is to convince the channel that launching IPK without Sarun is insane.
So all the Sarun fans who want to see back their iconic couple in the season 2 get ready and fold your sleeves to bombard the channel with emails, tweets and messages. Besides that, we will also need a strong offline support as well. So tell your friends and family to support the campaign and create a huge offline supporters base as well. Guys, please support and spread the message as it will be really painful to someone else playing the characters that are made for Sarun and Sarun only.
